Our client, a leading global financial services firm, is seeking an Investment Management Agreement (IMA) Specialist to join their team. This role offers the opportunity to work within a dynamic business function, providing general business support and negotiating investment management agreements for a diverse client base. The successful candidate will have the chance to develop relationships with key stakeholders and contribute to wider initiatives within the business. This role is ideal for a qualified lawyer with a commercial outlook and a willingness to tackle issues beyond pure legal advice.

What you'll do:
As an Investment Management Agreement Specialist, you will play a crucial role in supporting the segregated account business within the EMEA region. Your primary responsibility will be negotiating investment management agreements for our diverse client base. You will manage projects effectively, ensuring that workload is prioritised and deadlines are met. Building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders will be integral to your role. Despite your focus on the EMEA region, you will also provide support to other geographical regions as required, reflecting the global nature of our operations. Furthermore, you will have opportunities to contribute to wider initiatives and documentation aspects relating to other aspects of our business.

. Provide general business support for the segregated account business within the EMEA region
. Negotiate investment management agreements for the segregated account client base
. Manage projects effectively, ensuring workload is prioritised and deadlines are met
. Maintain and develop relationships with key stakeholders including Client Relationship Management and Take-on teams, Legal & Compliance, Portfolio Management teams
. Support other geographical regions as required, reflecting the global nature of the business
. Contribute to wider initiatives and documentation aspects relating to other aspects of the business

What you bring:
The ideal candidate for this Investment Management Agreement Specialist role is a qualified lawyer with at least 4 years PQE in a major law firm or in-house at a sell-side or buy-side financial institution. You will bring a sound understanding of the asset management industry and knowledge of the client base of an institutional asset manager. Your in-depth knowledge of investment management agreements and ancillary agreements, coupled with your understanding of financial services regulation, will be crucial to your success in this role. You will also have a good working knowledge of funds in general and other commercial contracts within the asset management sector. Your strong drafting and negotiation skills, solid organisational skills, and excellent written and oral communication skills will enable you to excel in this role.

. In-depth knowledge of investment management agreements and ancillary agreements
. Understanding of financial services regulation, including current regulatory framework relating to asset management in main jurisdictions where we operate
. Good working knowledge of funds in general and other commercial contracts within the asset management sector
. Strong drafting and negotiation skills
. Solid organisational skills
. Excellent written and oral communication skills
