BI Consultant is required to join a Lloyd's Market Insurance client to deliver BI projects utilizing Microsoft Technologies, including Power BI to support data-driven decision making.

The BI Consultant will support the business by heading up various BI-related projects. There is also a significant advisory element on the as-is architecture, where the experience of the role-holder will be an extremely valuable input.

The BI Consultant will work independently and as part of a small team on tasks assigned to them and will be responsible for the timeliness, quality and accuracy of their output.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Specialist Market Insurance utilising Power BI, SQL, and Microsoft SQL Server technologies to develop robust data management solutions.

Key Responsibilities for the BI Developer (Insurance) includes:

  • Make a significant contribution to the following technological projects:
    • Underwriting Workbench
    • Reinsurance Administration System
    • Claims Data Enrichment
    • Pricing
    • Bordereaux Management
  • Evaluate the nightly ETL and suggest improvements, refinements, automations
  • Provide expert support to the rest of the BI team on all matters relating to ETL
  • Propose architecturally-sound solutions to BI problems
  • Contribute to team's sprints on data-related tasks

Requirements for the BI Developer (Insurance) includes:

  • Proven experience building BI Solutions within an Insurance business is a must
  • Proficiency in Power BI for developing interactive reports and dashboards.
  • Strong SQL skills, including experience with Microsoft SQL Server and T-SQL.
  • Experience in data warehouse design and development, as well as ETL processes.
  • Proven track record in analysis, design, and development of data management systems.
  • Familiarity with SSIS, SSAS, and SSRS for developing and deploying data solutions.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Certification in Power BI or Microsoft SQL Server (preferred).
