Senior Network Engineer

£45,000 - £50,000 + bonus and benefits

The Role:

My client, a well-established and nationally recognised business, is looking for a driven and experienced Senior Network Engineer to join their experienced internal IT team based in the West Midlands.

The Senior Network Engineer will oversee all UK network infrastructure across multiple sites. Core skills are required in supporting and developing LAN/WAN Infrastructures, Network Security and the wider IT estate.

This would be a great opportunity for an experienced Networking professional to take on a broad role with increased levels of responsibility and autonomy. There will be lots of interesting project work to lead in the coming months.

This is an on-site role based near Birmingham, West Midlands. Although some flexible working is available.

Key Responsibilities:

• Management and development of the LAN/WAN environment across the group.
• Monitor performance & provide improvements across the network infrastructure.
• Develop and implement processes that improve the stability and security of the networking infrastructure while minimising business impact.
• Develop & maintain documentation sets relating to areas covered by the role.
• Provide reporting of both SLA and performance of the networking infrastructure.
• Work within the IT team to support other areas of the infrastructure where appropriate.
• Vulnerability/Patch Management & Reporting of LAN/WAN infrastructure.
• Ensure that IT standards are followed and enforced within the organisation.

Skills and Experience required:

• Previous experience in a similar Network Engineer/Administrator role.
• Proven LAN/WAN (Cisco) development & support experience.
• Knowledge and experience with Firewalls (Checkpoint) and an interest in wider Network Security.
• Any SD-WAN experience is desirable for future projects but not essential.
