What you'll do:

As a Senior Underwriter, you will play a pivotal role in contributing to the development and delivery of the business plan for your portfolio. You will be responsible for performing complex underwriting activities while adhering strictly to all legal and regulatory requirements. Your role will also involve acting as a technical expert within your area of expertise, providing support in identifying both issues and opportunities. A key part of your role will be establishing, developing and strengthening relationships with various stakeholders including customers, brokers, business partners and colleagues. To ensure continuous professional growth, you will be expected to identify and implement appropriate learning and development activities.

Contribute to the development of the business plan for the portfolio and ensure its delivery
Perform complex underwriting activities in accordance with all legal and regulatory requirements
Adhere to underwriting standards, instructions and good practice to minimise risk and maximise efficiency
Act as a technical expert to support the identification of issues and opportunities within area of expertise
Establish, develop and strengthen relationships with stakeholders including customers, brokers, business partners and colleagues
Continually develop expertise and technical knowledge through identifying and implementing appropriate learning and development activities

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for this Senior Underwriter position brings along an in-depth experience of working in an underwriting environment within a specialised or complex area. You should hold specific professional qualifications such as CII. Experience in using risk profiling, pricing tools and loss models is essential. We are looking for someone who has strong established relationships with customers or brokers. If you have experience managing underwriting individuals or teams, it would be a significant advantage. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are crucial for this role.
