Student data is managed in conjunction with staff in the Educational Technology Office of the Office of Medical Education (OME). This position will have primary responsibility for managing the database and data warehouse for the office. This position serves as a liaison to the National Board of Medical Examiners in order to manage data from national licensing examinations and other examinations provided by the National Board for MD students. The position serves as primary staff support for the Data Warehouse Governance Committee.Senior Professionals are responsible for exercising discretion, analytical skill, personal accountability and responsibility in a wide range of areas, including academic, administrative, managerial and student-services functions. Work involves creating, integrating, applying, and sharing knowledge directly related to a professional field. Work is performed fully independently.*Management of Student Data - 50%*+ Communicates with various constituents regarding complex student data and serves as the primary support for the Data Governance Committee.+ Responds to faculty, deans, administrators and external constituents about requests for data, with an understanding of the data itself as well as the entire undergraduate medical education process.+ Uses SQL database; edits, updates and creates reports within the database.+ Responsible for analysis and evaluation of data for Associate and Assistant Deans.+ Coordinates and collaborates with others outside of the Student Life Office to obtain data, both within the School of Medicine and at the national level, including AMCAS, NBME, Evaluations faculty and others.+ Collaborates with IT staff, Data Warehouse Governance Committee, Evaluations staff and other constituents to provide student data for various purposes, including research, educational evaluation, grant writing and other needs.+ Collaborates with Office of Educational Technology and the Office of Assessment, Evaluation, and Outcomes to design and implement enhancements to the data warehouse, including processes for quality control.+ Works within the Office of Student Life to track student progress through admissions, matriculation, and graduation. Tracks progress of all students as they move towards graduation. Regularly monitors data on students in the MD program as they progress.+ Using available data, tracks the progress of students who are off cycle, creating and analyzing the data and writing appropriate reports.+ Advises the Associate Dean on tracking of students who are off cycle; creates and performs appropriate analyses for the Student Promotions Committee and other constituents, including the AAMC, about the progress of students.+ Serves as a liaison to the National Board of Medical Examiners with extensive knowledge of examinations administered by the NBME and complex score reporting systems.+ Works closely with the Office of Education Technology and the Office of the Registrar to ensure SOM OSL student database is consistent and up-to-date with all university records.*Oversee and execute creation of CU-SIS Courses - 25%*+ Enters required data to create all courses offered by the School of Medicine into University Database (CU-SIS). Data examples include: course numbers, section numbers, instructors, teaching assistants, and graders/approvers.+ Confirms that each course and section is tied to Canvas, the LMS software.+ Tracks inconsistencies in instructor data.+ Works closely with the Office of the Registrar, the Office of Education Technology, and the Curriculum Office to ensure accuracy of all course information.+ Audits, maintains, and corrects course information as errors are identified.*MSPE letter management - 15%*+ Works closely with the Office of Educational Technology to extract data and student/course evaluations from OASIS to merge into the MSPE.+ Works closely with OSL Leadership to ensure a smooth process for accurately collecting all the MSPE data.+ Manages the process of merging all MSPE data into OSL Student Database.+ Collaborates with department coordinators to collect all student evaluations for MSPE letter construction.*Committee and Office Support - 10%*+ Provides support to the Data Warehouse Governance Committee. Experience working with and knowledge of SQL.+ Experience with manipulating, combining, and extracting data from large data sets.+ Advanced level of experience with Microsoft Access, Excel, and SharePoint.*Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:*+ Strong communication and interpersonal skills.+ Detail-oriented with a history of working with complex systems Analytical and critical thinking skills.+ Strong skills in project management and change management are required.+ Proficiency with MS Office products, as well as aptitude to develop additional computer skills rapidly.+ Working knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint and Access.
