The Position:

This is a Full time position with a family office headquartered in Coral Gables, Florida. This family's operations consists of a venture capital division, an investment team, and a growing accounting team. The accounting team provides general ledger accounting, account reconciliation, bill payment, treasury oversight, finance administration, cash management, budgeting, tax oversight, strategic planning, financial reporting, finance/tax relationship management, document management, and accounting technology services to internal departments and principal owners.


  • Reviews invoices for accuracy and appropriateness and schedules for workflow approvals.
  • Reviews banking activity in multiple bank accounts.
  • Reviews, tracks, and follows up on travel, employee expense reports, and credit card expenditures to ensure proper documentation and accurate coding.
  • Assists as directed with payroll administration and compliance.
  • Assists with wire transfers and electronic transactions routing for approval.
  • Assists with income and cash inflow accounting and reconciliation, coordinating with the investment team.
  • Codes transactions for posting to the general ledger and/or reviews automated system-matched transactions for accuracy.
  • Prepares, inputs, and posts journal entries in general ledger computer system.
  • Analyzes general ledger accounts; provides recommendations for adjustments.
  • Prepares balance sheet account reconciliations.
  • Prepare bank reconciliations.
  • Assists with monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
  • Prepares scheduled, periodic consolidated financial reports.
  • Performs analysis on bank balance summaries and prepares cash position report.
  • Assists with preparation of budgets and cash flow analysis.
  • Analyzes and makes recommendations regarding budget to actual variances.
  • Prepares tax-related schedules and special schedules and reports as assigned.
  • Assists with investment-related accounting, basis calculations for investment interests, and gain/loss tracking.
  • Performs partnership and trust accounting tasks.
  • Assists with administrative functions, including completion of forms and submission of claims for medical, insurance, financial, and other matters.
  • evelops and documents business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
  • Assists with the administration and tracking of assets.
  • Assists with the set-up and maintenance of accounting and administrative technology applications.
  • Assists with document management for finance, accounting, and administrative functions.
  • Assists with deadline tracking, ticklers, and reminders for key tasks related to accounting and administration.
  • Assist with training and supervision of lower-level accounting staff, as applicable.
  • Liaise with other departments, team members, and third parties to perform work and improve financial procedures.
  • Assists with and completes special projects and other duties, as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • A bachelor's degree in accounting or business with an accounting concentration or equivalent is required.
  • CPA certification or in the process of obtaining a CPA certification is preferred.
  • Five to seven years of experience in accounting and bookkeeping required, including two to three years of experience in partnership and/or trust accounting.
  • Prior experience working for family office and/or venture capital firms in an accounting role is strongly preferred.


  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office programs, particularly in Excel, including look-ups and pivot tables required.
  • Experience with QuickBooks Enterprise or other QuickBooks solutions required.
  • Experience with cloud-based solutions, file sharing, and document management greatly preferred.
  • Experience with online banking functions,, and consolidated reporting tools greatly preferred.

Location: Preference will be given to local candidates.

Compensation: Commensurate with experience.
