Scope of Position:

In this role, you will be supporting the Life Sciences Contract Manufacturing Organization (CMO) by working with customers and suppliers of Laboratory glassware, plastics and equipment. Duties include communicating with suppliers of any changes to critical documents to ensure suppliers comply with new label/artwork/drawings/specifications revisions. Responsible for interacting with the production, contract research and R&D groups to coordinate changes as directed.

Day to Day Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for drafting technical product drawings that fit the business needs, including creating, revising, and assuring drawings issued are in current formats, by using the appropriate drawing tools.
  • Responsible for creating customer facing drawings that fit the specification provided by supervisor
  • Responsible for creating labels within Bartender software as well as label drawings.
  • Primary point of contact to assist suppliers with issues on labels
  • Functioning as Subject-Matter-Expert in label making following Division regulatory requirements.
  • Performs complaint investigation and root cause analysis in support of customer complaints. Will utilize the ETQ system for this action.
  • Will perform as team member to support development and execution of plans to evaluate new products assuring quality and repeatability.
  • Creating product inspections to be carried out by Laboratory Technicians
  • Executing cost-reduction and improvement (DMAIC & LEAN) projects in line with business objectives
  • Ensures quality standards by following Company & departmental policies & procedures including, but not limited to:
    • Product performance & quality verification
    • Identifying & recording problems related to product, process & quality systems
    • Initiating action to prevent non-conformance in products, process & quality systems
    • Training on quality systems as identified by supervisor and required by position
    • Basic to intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office and statistical programs (ie Minitab, SAS, etc..).

Travel Requirements:

  • Travel may be required to visit suppliers and attend meetings.
  • Expected travel will be less than 20%.
  • Position will work remotely from home office.

Hours of work/work schedule/flex-time:

  • Standard business hours; Monday - Friday, prefer hours of: 7:00 am - 3:30 pm

Required Education:

  • High school diploma or GED required.

Required Years and Area of Experience:

  • Minimum 5+ years of Quality Assurance experience.

Required Skills:

  • Proficiency with AutoCAD.
  • Proficiency with Label making software.
  • Experience with Quality related software such as ETQ
  • Experience with continuous improvement methodologies and tools including LEAN, DMAIC, CAPA and SCAR.

Desired Experience/Qualifications/Skills:

  • Some college level education preferred.
  • Familiarity with Laboratory Glassware
  • PeopleSoft experience
  • Lab experience
  • Life Sciences industry experience

Soft Skills:

  • Able to work independently
  • Communicate well across all levels of employees
  • Ability to direct employees not in direct chain of command
  • Ability to work with suppliers
  • Flexible - may need to come outside of work timings including weekends
  • Works well with all cross-functional groups & be an effective team member
