The SPECT CT/CT Medical Imaging Field Service Engineer - looking for someone with GE Discovery GE Discovery SPECT & SPECT/CT, Nuc Med expertise; multi-vendor (Siemens, Philips, GE) most desirable.

Called upon to resolve the most complex issues related to repair, maintenance and integration of highly sophisticated medical imaging systems at multiple locations. The Radiology Service Engineer must possess expert level knowledge and skills on at least one specialized medical imaging systems to include: Scintigraphy, single-photon emission computerized tomography (SPECT), positron emission tomography (PET), and radiation oncology systems. The Radiology Field Service Engineer also serves as a technology expert/consultant, assisting in the identification and evaluation of multiple medical imaging technology life cycle initiatives. The Radiology Field Service Engineer will also provide the following services; incoming equipment inspections, installation, removal/relocation, recall & alert activities and calibration & repair of medical imaging devices.

Qualifications
Education and/or Experience
Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school.
MUST HAVE A MINIMUM of 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Associates degree in Biomedical Equipment Technology, Electronics, or related field

Specialized Medical Imaging Training (GE Discovery SPECT, Nuc Med, julti-vendor)

MUST HAVE A MINIMUM of 5 years of direct medical device service

Valid driver's license

Working knowledge of radiation safety and safe working practices

Ability to effectively use hand tools commonly associated with the repair and maintenance of medical equipment

Ability to use test equipment, gauges and meters commonly associated with the service of medical equipment

Ability to read, understand and interpret technical documentation including, but not limited to wiring and equipment schematics

Ability to mentor/teach other technicians within the department

Basic computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office applications

Understanding of human anatomy and physiology and how medical devices interface with the human body

Knowledge of common medical terminology

Ability to effectively communicate with physicians, nurses, allied health technicians and department managers both verbally and in writing

OTHER Preferred (not required) QUALIFICATIONS:

Reasoning Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills - To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of spreadsheet and word processing software.
