What you'll do:

As an Assistant Underwriter/Junior Underwriter at Aspen Insurance, you will play a crucial role in underwriting risks appropriately while supporting Property and Specialty Team. You will contribute to the preparation and implementation of operational plans, ensuring these include operational considerations for delivery. Your role will involve performing underwriting activities in line with all legal and regulatory requirements. You will negotiate rates/terms for both existing and new business while also supporting credit control in payment collection. A key part of your role will be participating in the review and analysis of our portfolio to track progress towards our business objectives.

• Underwrite risks appropriately and support the respective underwriting teams in accordance with the business plan and within delegated underwriting authority
• Contribute to the preparation and implementation of operational team plans
• Perform underwriting activities in accordance with all legal and regulatory requirements
• Negotiate rates/terms and conditions for existing and new business
• Support credit control in payment collection
• Participate in the review and analysis of the portfolio to identify progress toward business objectives

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for the Assistant Underwriter/Junior Underwriter position brings at least 1 year experience of Insurance Knowledge. Your understanding of market conditions allows you to make informed decisions about risk management. Your strong interpersonal skills enable you to communicate effectively with colleagues and clients alike. Your organisational skills ensure that you can manage conflicting priorities to meet deadlines.

• Relevant knowledge of underwriting in appropriate area Preferably a Property Background
• Understanding of relevant market conditions
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Good organisational skills
• Proficiency in MS Office applications effectively eg Excel
• Fluent in any European Language
