Oracle Database Administrator (Inside/Outside IR35)

Digital Health and Care Wales is an ambitious organisation created by Welsh Government to lead on the digital transformation of health and care. It builds on the digital architecture and national services put in place by the NHS Wales Informatics Service over the past decade.
The organisation will lead on large-scale developments that make a significant difference to the people of Wales as well as to health and care professionals, such as expansion of the digital patient record and the creation of a National Data Resource. It will improve the way data is collected, shared and used. We will achieve this by working in partnership with all NHS Wales organisations and through our expert and dedicated workforce.
As an Oracle Database Administrator your main responsibilities will be:
- Plan and co-ordinate database design requirements and to provide a focal point for all activity affecting database models, to develop and implement the design policies, and ensuring these policies are followed, and to implement all aspects of the design of database architecture, including logical, physical and security models.
- Ensure maintenance of the logical and physical models underlying the databases.
- Provide end user support through service desk requests and incidents
- Manage the configuration of databases and supporting technology across the various hardware systems and to ensure best use of those systems within required operational parameters (e.g. resilience).
- Assist in the collection and analysis of data relating to the capabilities and requirements of databases, and to enable the identification of actions needed to develop them, following best practice.
You'll have relevant experience in:
- Experience of Oracle Database Administration.
- Experience of managing ApEx environments.
- Knowledge of server scripting (Microsoft Powershell and Unix Shell Scripting).
