The Opportunity

Locations: Edinburgh, Basingstoke, Bristol, Peterborough, Fully Remote

There is an excellent opportunity for an Operational Tax Business Analyst to join our Tax Change team. The role will be working with Insurance and Wealth products, so experience in these sectors would be preferred. The team offer flexible working, so the role can be based at one of our regional offices working between home/office or purely remote.

In this role you will support the Tax Change Manager in ensuring the successful and timely completion of all Operational Tax deliverables within the Finance and other Operational Workstream plans.

You'll be:

  • Subject matter expert in Operational Taxes.
  • Supports the development of a finance-specific system, identifying all client divergences and the creation of a preferred taxation set-up.
  • Contributes to the development of each relevant suite of taxation system requirements ensuring these are unambiguous and clearly documented so that a non-taxation specialist is able to understand them.
  • Supports the interpretation of legislative and regulatory requirements and/or changes in order to assess the wider impact on processes and system solutions.
  • Applies appropriate analytical methods and techniques, to shape and define business solutions (eg processes and operational changes), documenting them in accordance with agreed format and quality standards.
  • Contributes to the definition of complex tax and accounting rules, reporting specifications and static data for each relevant client/build.
  • Supports the Design & Build Teams with timely query resolution.
  • Designs and delivers procedures and training for any new or amended processes.
  • Supports BAT activities, contributing to the production of the Testing Strategy/Plans and providing an escalation point for queries and issues arising from the Finance or BAT Test Team.

You should apply if you have:

  • Tax or accounting qualification; or qualified by experience.
  • Good working knowledge of Life, Pensions and Wealth products and associated tax reporting regulations.
  • Experience supporting Change/Transformation programs within a Tax/Finance workstream.
  • Understanding of L&P administration systems and functionality
