We are currently seeking a skilled Mainframe Discovery Specialist to join one of our most trusted clients. You will lead the implementation and integration of Mainframe discovery solutions across the businesses global estate and will take ownership of creating and implementing a discovery solution using Eview software, integrating it with UCMDB and ServiceNow. You will be responsible for moving the project from proof of concept to production, ensuring global installation, and liaising with various SMEs to facilitate a smooth transition and effective ongoing support.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the installation of Eview Z OS discovery agent across the global Mainframe estate.
• Integrate discovery solutions with Universal Configuration Management Database (UCMDB) and ServiceNow.
• Address any connection-level or data discovery issues, working closely with Precisely and internal IT teams.
• Collaborate with SMEs to understand data patterns and existing manual processes for Mainframe discovery.
• Develop and set up reporting and dashboards in ServiceNow for Real Time tracking.
• Educate and guide teams on UCMDB best practices, particularly in relation to Mainframe components.
• Design an integration architecture that leverages Eview, UCMDB, and ServiceNow, preparing the platform for future state readiness.
• Explore innovative approaches to utilise Discovery for full end-to-end business service mapping.

Key Skills & Qualifications:

• Extensive experience in infrastructure discovery and configuration management, preferably for IBM Mainframe systems.
• Proven track record with Eview software or similar Mainframe discovery tools.
• Strong understanding of UCMDB, ServiceNow, and their integration points.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
• Experience in reporting and dashboard setup, preferably within ServiceNow.
• Familiarity with ITIL frameworks and best practices in service management.
• Excellent communication skills for educating and advising team members and stakeholders.
• Strategic thinking for future-proofing discovery and configuration management platforms.
• Project management skills, including an ability to lead projects from conception to completion.

Required Experience:

• Minimum of 8 years in IT configuration management, with at least 3 years focused on Mainframe discovery.
• Prior experience with HP UCMDB, CMDB technologies, and discovery tools (Tideway, BMC Atrium, HP Discovery, etc.).
• Previous roles that required collaboration with both technical and business teams to map business applications to IT infrastructure.
• Demonstrated success in designing and implementing IT process improvements and technological innovations.
• Experience in leading and managing cross-functional teams.

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
• Certifications in ITIL, TOGAF, or other relevant frameworks are a plus.
