Boiler Room Operator
Monitor and operate systems and equipment, make necessary adjustments to main equipment. Perform routine and preventative maintenance with attention to detail. Must have working knowledge and experience with boilers, chilled water systems, and water treatment.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and 3-5 years related experience required.
Class 4 NIULPE power engineer's license required.
Position will work under close supervision of Facilities Manager.

Duties include:
Must have general knowledge Boiler systems.
Must be able to understand and operate diagnostic equipment.
Must have general knowledge of computer operations.
Operate and troubleshoot utility system equipment.
Operate and monitor building automation and alarm systems.
Perform chemical analysis to optimize system performance.
Perform corrective maintenance on plant equipment.
Perform preventive maintenance on plant equipment.
Answer boiler room and facilities department phones. Dispatch/call-in facilities personnel as required.
Documentation -work performed, phone calls and operational log.
Maintain assigned area of responsibility.
Research/order supplies as needed.
Work which produces levels of mental/visual fatigue which are typical of jobs that perform a wide variety of duties with frequent and significant uncontrollable deadlines. Work may include the operation of and full attention to a personal computer or CRT up to 40 percent of the time. Involves regularly lifting of bulky or moderately heavy weights (ie, up to 50 pounds), and occasionally assisting with heavier tasks or expending the equivalent effort in pushing, pulling, or otherwise handling material, equipment, and other objects.
